Michael Zillmer

Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of InnoGames GmbH
Member of the Executive Board at the BIU

Michael Zillmer is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of InnoGames GmbH. The focus of his work is on the areas of human resources, office management and office IT. He began working in browser game development in 2003, when he teamed up with brothers Hendrik and Eike Klindworth to create ‘Tribal Wars’, which, with over 50 million users, is one of the most popular browser games on the web. Programming the first playable version of this classic strategy game only took the team about a month. An avid gamer himself – among his favourites is ‘Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2’ – Zillmer wanted to develop games that offered the highest level of quality and longest enjoyment possible. The success of ‘Tribal Wars’ resulted in the founding of InnoGames GmbH in 2007; today, the company’s games have more than 150 million registered users from 200 different countries. Michael Zillmer joined the BIU Executive Board in June 2016.
